Disney Cruise Line is owned by the Walt Disney Company and has his headquarters in Celebration, Florida.  Karl Holz is the CEO and it’s a part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division.  Plans on starting Disney Cruise Line were made on May 13th 1994.

Disney Cruise line owns 4 ships, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, since 2011 the Disney Dream and since 2012 the Disney Fantasy.  In February 2007 they announced the construction of two new ships that were 50% bigger than the current ones and which were finished by 2011 and 2012, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy respectively.  They also own their own private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay (with ‘Cay’ pronounced as ‘key’) where the first ship docked in May 1996.

The Disney Magic started her maiden trip on July 30th 1998, the Disney Wonder followed on August 15th 1999.  You can find more information about those ships here.

The Disney Dream started her maiden trip January 26th 2011 for her first cruise in the Bahamas.  After that she made 3, 4 and 5 day cruises in the Bahamas.

The Disney Fantasy followed on March 31st 2012 with cruise in the Western (maiden) and Eastern Caribbean.

Disney Cruise Line actually started in 1995, when the construction for the both ships was started in the Fincantieri shipwarf in Italy.  This ended an agreement with Premier Cruises for the maritime part of Disney vacations. The two new ships were build by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

Disney Cruise Line offers cruises from 3 up to 15 nights from Port Canaveral, Florida,  as standard home port, but also from Barcelona in Spain, San Juan in Puerto Rico, Los Angeles in California, Vancouver in Canada, Miami in Florida, …

Those are cruises to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Alaska, California Coast, Mediterranean, Transatlantic, Panama Canal, … You can also combine your Disney cruise with a stay in Walt Disneyworld or Disneyland Resort.  You can read everything about all those possibilities, the ships, the on board entertainment, … on this website.

Everything you see is based on experiences as a frequent Disney cruiser.  I haven’t made all cruises mentioned, but still quite many.  95% of the pictures on this site (also the show pictures) are taken by myself.
